Norton antivirus urgent help!?

Question by Johnson86: Norton antivirus urgent help!?
I was updating the Antivirus when I countered this problem.

Error: “LU1801: LiveUpdate session canceled” or LiveUpdate was unable to get your updates”

I’ve checked the norton website. The cause is : This message displays if you click Cancel during the LiveUpdate session. The message can be ignored. Run LiveUpdate again at your convenience.

The update I was trying to download and install is Symantic Common client.

The prob is i did not cancel the installation but the error stll occurs. This problem has persisted for a few days. Any help?
Another question is, can I download the update manually and install it? If yes, where can I download? What is the exact address? I tried finding, but I can’t

some kind of malware i would imagine. run an anti _____ware program and see what comes up. if that doesnt work, do a system restore to a time before you got the messages

honestly norton causes too many problems on peoples computers, it uses up to much cpu processes. Uninstall and use the uninstall tool from norton online and upgrade to AVG free. no more problems. It updates itself daily and works awesome. Best of all it is free. Ask the professionals at yourtechonline.com if you need convincing, they convinced me.

That’s how my problems with Norton began…better hurry and get AVG because Norton could be going down. There is malware that specifically targets Norton and it is tough to find. You may want to download the update to your desktop and then manually install it if you know how.

sounds like some sort of malware. It seems that they tend to make anti-virus programs their first priority. My recomendation is that, if the aforementioned anti_ware search doesn’t come up with anything, or comes up with something but can’t do anything about it, you should try reinstalling norton antivirus. Its not guaranteed that it’ll do anything, but if its just a problem with the program, it should be fine afterwards.
