Q&A: itunes 8 and old version of mac help?

Question by lesstalkmorerokk: itunes 8 and old version of mac help?
my computer is a mac OS X 10.3.9
i want a new ipod nano, and it says i need itunes 8 to run it. i have itunes 7. when i go to itunes and click “check for updates”, it says “would you like to download itunes 8?” and i’m like yes and then it brings me to the software update page, where it says i have no updates and then it does nothing. i went to the apple website and tried to download itunes 8, and it just told me that i had to have a mac OS X 10.4 or whatever. what can i do to get itunes 8, or have a way to transfer music to an ipod nano?

note: i don’t have the ipod yet, i’m just gettin ready for one.

Your Mac is too old. Its operating system cant use the app which leaves the Nano useless if you stick with 10.3
